In Spring 2026 we are launching a series of online EarthCARE science seminars! They are open to all with a focus on using EarthCARE for wider scientific understanding and applications, rather than product development and cal/val activities that are well served by existing meetings. We are particularly encouraging of contributions from early career scientists. To ensure you are kept up-to-date, please sign up to the EarthCARE mailing list (link below). The seminar series is organised by Sebastian Bley (TROPOS), Johanna Mayer (ESA), Kamil Mroz (ECMWF) and Carla Salas Molar (GMV).
The seminars consist of a one-hour Teams meeting (including discussion) on a Wednesday every four weeks, alternating between morning sessions in Europe (to accommodate Japan) and afternoon sessions in Europe (to accommodate the east coast of Canada and the United States)
15:00 CEST, 22:00 JST, 09:00 EDT
There will be two talks, both lasting approximately 20–25 minutes, by
Jiseob Kim (McGill University):
"Fast and slow falling ice particles: What EarthCARE CPR reveals"
Aida Galfione (Politecnico di Torino):
"Observing and Characterising Convection Using EarthCARE CPR Data and GEO Imagery"
